Suggested by the chancellor’s Advisory Committee for Planning and Budgeting in spring 1996 as a means of improving communication among campus constituencies, Chancellor William T. Snyder’s online discussion page went live June 7, 1996, and was accessible through the UT Knoxville home page. Snyder responded to many of the queries and comments himself. The page was eliminated in August 1999 (as was the SGA Discussion Page) because of the time-consuming effort to maintain it and the need to monitor posts to ensure that they met all legal and UT standards.
