In 1985 in the second round of designation of Centers of Excellence by the State of Tennessee, this center within the College of Business was designated. It was a part of the college’s MBA program, declared visionary for its time. With the assistance from the Centers of Excellence designation, the college was able to redirect and enhance the MBA program as envisioned. After three years, the center’s goals were declared accomplished, and the center was withdrawn from the program.
