Bobsled Tryouts on Campus

The US Bobsled and Skeleton Foundation held an athlete recruitment workout at Tom Black Track in April 2003 to look for potential Olympic-caliber athletes for the bobsled, luge, and skeleton competitions. The workout was part of a monthlong tour of universities nationwide in search of athletes. The foundation indicated it was looking for sprinters and other track athletes because they had the combination of power and speed that likened them to a bobsled athlete.
