Between 1942 and 1946, the Blount Farm, consisting of 511 acres and located about eight miles south of the agriculture campus in Blount County was purchased in four transactions. Funds used to purchase the land were obtained from payments made by TVA for flood easements on the Cherokee Farm. Beef, cattle, swine, and sheep used in research were transferred from Cherokee Farm to Blount Farm, leaving dairy research at the Cherokee Farm.
