Delta Kappa Chapter of the national Beta Theta Pi fraternity was installed at UT on November 4, 1967. The national organization was established August 8, 1839, at Miami University. The colors of Beta Theta Pi are red and blue. The flower is the rose, and the symbol is the dragon. The philanthropy of the fraternity is Child Burn Awareness. Among notable Beta Theta Pi alumni are John Wooden, Jay Schmidt, and Sam Walton. The chapter announced its reorganization and revitalization in June 2014, following several years of inactivity.
