Bear on Campus

The UT Alert System warns of unsafe conditions in the UT area. On June 9, 2012, it alerted users to the fact that there was a bear loose on campus. After the bear had meandered down Seventeenth Street and wandered around the campus, it settled in a tree near the Panhellenic Building, where it was tranquilized by the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency and transported to the Cherokee National Forest for release.
