The annual Battle of the Bands, sponsored by the Campus Entertainment Board, began in 1985. The event is an opportunity for student bands to present their music and compete for prizes. The Battle is open to any music formats, and bands are required to present some original songs. Bands apply through a process that includes submission of a recording. A limited number are chosen, and each of the finalists plays a 20-minute set.
