The American Veterinary Medical Association’s Council of Education fully accredited the UT College of Veterinary Medicine in spring 1979. The college maintained this accreditation during each subsequent accreditation review. The US Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) recognize the AVMA through the CoE as the accrediting agency for veterinary schools and colleges in the US.
