In 2005 the program for volunteer workers in event management for spring sports, formerly called Spring Vol Hostesses, was renamed Spring Sports Ambassadors. During baseball games, ambassadors retrieve bats, get water for umpires, give baseballs to umpires, and provide fans with popcorn, drinks, and game information. They also work hospitality areas for club seat holders, answering questions, and ensuring that fans have what they need. Ambassadors also work all track meets, where they serve as runners for officials, assist in posting results, checking in runners for events, and providing other assistance to officials.
