This organization is a campus-wide national service fraternity dedicated to the principles of the Boy Scouts of America. Open to all students, the fraternity was founded at Lafayette College (Easton, Pennsylvania) in 1925. UT’s Iota Alpha Chapter was founded in 1950, lost its active status 1983–85, and was then reactivated. The organization operated the institution’s Lost-and-Found location for many years, and sponsored a “beauty and the beast” contest, which named UT’s campus queen and the ugliest-man-on-campus. They also ushered for the East Tennessee Education Association annual on-campus meetings and for convocations.
