Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity, the Jewish fraternity of North America, was founded at New York University in 1913. The Psi Deuteron Chapter was established at UT in 1949, and having become inactive, was rechartered on January 29, 1962. Having become inactive again, it was refounded in spring 2007. Its philanthropy is Magen David Adom. Among notable national AEPi alumni are Wolf Blitzer, Art Garfunkel, Paul Simon, Gary Bettman, Gene Wilder, and Walter Winchell. The colors of the fraternity are blue and gold; the flower is the fleur-de-lis; and the mascot is the lion.
