UT’s Alpha Sigma Chapter of Alpha Epsilon Phi sorority was established on September 28, 1948. The first chapter was formed at Barnard College of Columbia University in 1909. The colors of the sorority are green and white; the flower is the lily of the valley; the mascot is the giraffe; and the open motto is Multa Corda, Una Causa (Many Hearts, One Purpose). The chapter became inactive in 1977.
