Alpha Epsilon Delta was founded at the University of Alabama on April 28, 1926. The UT chapter is the Tennessee Beta Chapter. It is affiliated with the American Association for the Advancement of Science and is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies. Its national publication is the Scalpel. It invites membership to students with at least a 3.0 overall GPA and at least a 3.0 GPA in science courses who have at least 30 hours of course work. Its purpose is to provide educational and social programs for students preparing to enter a health profession.
