A daylong Women’s Festival marked the institution’s participation in the national Alice Doesn’t Day strike organized by the National Organization for Women on October 29, 1975. In addition, about 50 persons held a protest march to demonstrate against the lack of equality for women at the university. The title “Alice Doesn’t Day” was related to the movie Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore.
