The Agriculture Club, an incorporated organization of agriculture students, was established as the Farmers Club in 1899, with the purpose of promoting closer relationships between students and faculty in the study of rural problems and for the advancement of student activities in the College of Agriculture (now Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources). It was an outgrowth of the Dairy Club, which was formed in 1889. Its name was changed to the Rural Science Club in 1900, and it became the UT Agriculture (or AG) Club in 1908. The club published the UT [later Tennessee] Farmer, annually sponsored the Barnwarmin’ celebration and the spring roundup, and helped to defray the expenses of the various judging teams. It was disbanded in 1963 when the Agricultural Student-Faculty Council was formed.
