The Office of Student Activities began the Welcome Leaders program in 2011. During Welcome Week, each freshman is assigned to a specific group led by a Welcome Leader. The Welcome Leaders guide their groups through the activities of Welcome Week, including Life of the Mind discussion groups, in which each freshman is required to participate. Over 170 upperclassmen serve as Welcome Leaders.
