The Vol Walk of Life, an event established in 2009 through efforts of the Student Government Association and the Student Success Center, offered all students an opportunity to learn about the multitude of academic services and opportunities available at UT Knoxville. It provided information about academic services and programs available for enrolled students at all levels, as Freshmen Orientation does for incoming freshmen. Students learned through an interactive experience (based on the popular Milton Bradley board game The Game of Life) that represents the progression of an individual’s life. Vol Walk of Life represented the progression through a student’s time at UT—picking a major, registering for classes, becoming involved on campus, graduating, and even making postgraduate plans. Drew Webb, a senior in political science, received a Campus Leadership and Service award at the 2010 Chancellor’s Honors Banquet for his work in designing the Vol Walk of Life program.
