Tennessee Youth Foundation

On March 14, 1946, the UT General Alumni Association announced the formation of the Tennessee Youth Foundation, established at the university to honor those who died in World War II. The foundation was dedicated to the “enlargement of opportunities for all Tennessee youth” and had a statewide organization for the promotion of youth welfare projects. It offered an annual scholarship of $1,000 to a graduate student at UT. The foundation was headquartered at the University Alumni Office in Knoxville but was a membership organization of both UT alumni and nonalumni.
