Telephone Access Card Misuse Warning

A letter sent by Dean of Students Jerry Askew in fall quarter 1986 warning students of the consequences of using another student’s telephone code number to make calls went unheeded by more than three hundred students, whose cases were turned over to the Student Conduct Office in winter quarter 1987. Guilty students paid a $25 investigation fee for each code used that was not assigned and another $25 for each month the code was used, in addition to having to pay for the calls charged. In some instances, disciplinary probation was also imposed.
