In September 1970 President Boling announced that he and his vice presidents would spend two days each month visiting campuses in Nashville, Memphis, Chattanooga, and Martin and would also allocate specific time to work with administrators, students, and faculty members on the Knoxville campus. The first series of meetings was held on October 14–15.
