Student Issue, 1993—Extension of Drop Deadline

In 1993 the Student Government Association sought an extension of the drop deadline by 14 days (to 36 days), during which students could drop classes without receiving a W on the transcript. In a November 5 meeting with the Committee on the Baccalaureate, a compromise was reached to be sent forward to the Faculty Senate, allowing a student to drop up to five classes two weeks prior to finals at any time during their collegiate career.
