Residents on the third and fourth floors of Greve Hall were angered by a late evening notice on January 15, 1987, that the south sides of the floors would be converted from “D” housing to “C” housing in order to make them available to freshmen. (“D” housing allowed 24-hour visitation with the opposite sex so long as the visitor was escorted to the room by its resident. “C” housing allowed such visitation only four days a week for 23 hours on each day.) Freshmen were not allowed to live in “D” housing. Residence Halls gave upperclassmen moving from Greve first priority for other “D” housing.
