In 1975 the board of trustees adopted the policy that UT would not develop associate degree programs in any city containing a community college except when a UT campus located in that city has unique capabilities in the subject area of the degree, a strong local demand exists, and a feasibility study has shown that it is not economical for the community college to offer the course directly or in cooperation with UT.
