The establishment of the Angie Warren Perkins Award was announced at the 1995 Charter Day luncheon. The award serves as an ongoing tribute to extraordinary women. The award was originally presented at Charter Day activities and then presented annually at the chancellor’s Honors Banquet. In alternating years the award recognizes a faculty member in the early years of her career for excellence in teaching and scholarship, and then an individual for outstanding contributions to university governance or administration.
