Alpha Kappa Lambda Fraternity (Inactive)

Alpha Psi Chapter of the national fraternity Alpha Kappa Lambda was chartered May 25, 1969. The national fraternity was founded in 1911 as an evolution of the Los Amigos Club formed at Berkeley in 1907. The motto of the fraternity is Alethia Kai Logos (the Truth and the Word). Its flower is the Souvenir de Claudis Pernet yellow rose.

The university revoked Alpha Kappa Lambda’s charter in June 1979 after a raid by Knoxville police resulted in the arrest of three fraternity members and two other persons on drug charges ranging from possession of marijuana to possession of LSD for resale on university property.
