A local chapter of Phi Pi Phi was established at UT in 1929. The fraternity was founded at Northwestern University in 1915. In 1939 Phi Pi Phi merged with Alpha Sigma Phi, and all members of the Phi Pi Phi fraternity were accepted into Alpha Sigma Phi membership. The colors of Phi Pi Phi were turquoise and black, and the flower was the blue bell.
