Off-Campus Housing Office

UT maintained a list of apartments available to students until 1967 and then discontinued the practice because of its lack of ability to inspect the properties and the low use of the service by students. In 1973 the Student Government Association called for establishment of a listing of off-campus properties available to students, and in January 1974 Chancellor Jack Reese approved creating the office, which opened May 28, 1974, in the university center, with Tricia Callison as coordinator. The office was discontinued after a four-year tenure.
