Homer F. Johnson

Dr. Johnson joined the faculty of the university’s Department of Chemical Engineering in 1949. He was head of the Department of Chemical and Metallurgical Engineering from 1960 until his retirement in 1984. His research was in chemical engineering and separation processes, on which he wrote numerous articles in professional journals. He served on national professional committees, representing the American Institute of Chemical Engineers in accreditation of academic engineering programs. In 1980 he was named a Fellow of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. His intellectual contributions to the life of the university have been recognized by placement of a plaque in his honor on a faculty study.
