John D. Tickle Engineering Building—Opening Events

The dedication of the John D. Tickle Engineering Building on October 4, 2013, was the centerpiece of the College of Engineering’s celebration of its 175th anniversary. The evening before the dedication, a reception and a fireworks display from the top of the Tickle Building accompanied dramatic lighting of the building by Bandit Lites. An elegant dinner on the seventh floor of the Neyland Stadium East Skybox provided guests a perfect view of the building and the fireworks.

More than six hundred people attended the dedication ceremony and ribbon cutting, followed by a reception and open house for labs and other facilities within the building. A luncheon at the Foundry, with 130 attendees, was held to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Engineering Diversity Programs.
