Internet Live Sports Broadcasts

In 1996 the Vol Network was one of the first in college sports to begin making its football broadcasts available on the Internet. Vols basketball, Lady Vols basketball, and Vols baseball soon followed. In 2001 the September 8 game against Arkansas was the first time fans could e-mail their questions and comments to play-by-play announcer Bob Kesling and analyst Tim Priest during the game. All told, the network got responses from almost 20 different countries and from coast-to-coast around the nation. Japan, Kosovo, Brazil, Australia, England, and China were among the countries represented.
