Governor’s School for Manufacturing and Engineering Fundamentals

The Governor’s School for Manufacturing and Engineering Fundamentals began at UT in summer 1996. The school is designed to provide Tennessee’s best rising junior and senior high school students an opportunity to study technology, engineering, and business strategies for manufacturing. In 1998 Partnerships for Lifetime Learning, Tennessee’s school-to-work initiative, awarded the school $25,000 to offer the program over the Internet to all Tennessee’s high school students.
