Fall Sorority Rush 1965 was handled by computers, except for the actual rushing. Students going through rush received IBM cards for invitations, and sororities received master lists of acceptances. Concern that rush would extend past the start of classes led to the decision to have computers take over much of the tedious work connected with the process, such as writing invitations and alphabetizing and stuffing invitations into envelopes. The use of the computer system shortened rush by approximately one week.
