Computer Crimes Policy

UT issued its first policy dealing with computer crimes in 1986. Effective July 1, 1986, employees or students caught committing computer crimes could face expulsion, termination of employment, and prosecution under Tennessee’s Computer Crimes Law enacted in 1983. Chancellor Reese had issued a memo to all employees in January 1985 about computer ethics.
